Sowchuk Mine Services Ltd., a wholly-owned subsiduary of Tercon, has been performing contract hauling within the Elk Valley since 1985. At present, we move approximately 800 metric tonnes per day, 5 days a week on a single shift basis. Next year's plans are to double the hauling to 1600 metric tonnes per day.

Tercon, in partnership with the North Slave Metis Alliance, founded Metcon Construction Ltd. – an aboriginal company. The project involved the supply and installation of 75 km of 2” to 36” steel and HDPE piping. Tercon was the construction manager and provided training to the local First Nations personnel provided by the North Slave Alliance.

Excavation & Underground Utilities at Steepback

In addition to the mass excavation and tailings impoundment work we completed at the Steepback Mine project, we also performed Plantsite underground utilities (wet and dry), Gabian Wall Systems and site wide labour services, including the supply of trained gas monitoring and fire watch personnel. We also completed underground utilities and internal drains for the tailings dam.
